Jeff Peterson

A Grammy-winning slack key master - and the teacher guiding every step of your journey.

Jeff grew up on Haleakala Ranch on Maui, the son of a paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy), surrounded by the sound of slack key guitar. He went on to study classical guitar at USC and to lead the guitar program at the University of Hawai‘i - a rare blend of deep tradition and serious training that shapes every lesson he teaches.

I am a beginner - is this site for me?

Yes, absolutely. The courses start from the very, very beginning. You will learn how to hold your ukulele, how to tune, and how to start playing the music you want right away.

I am an adult learner - are there people my age here?

Yes. We have a broad age range at Ukulele Corner Academy, but many of our members are over 40 (some are in their 80s). All are welcome here.

Are the books included?

As a member you have access to a huge library of resources, including the graded repertoire for tenor and baritone ukulele, the 20 practice routines, the music from the Hawaiian book, Christmas songs, and Sor studies. You can download these individually beneath the lessons on each topic.

I'm an amateur guitarist - is this site too advanced for me?

This site was built for the dedicated amateur. We believe you'll get the most out of it thanks to its supportive, motivating atmosphere. You are certainly not alone here at Ukulele Corner.

Do I have to read music to use this site?

No. All of our lessons include TAB alongside standard notation to make them easy to follow. We also have many lessons that teach you to read standard notation, which can boost your learning and deepen your musicianship.

Do memberships automatically renew?
