This beautiful and intricate piece comes from the beloved Mexican composer, Manuel Maria Ponce. He is a composer that is held in high regard by his home country, with his composition Estrellita being of national recognition.
This is one of those pieces that sounds like there is more than one ukulele playing at the same time. It is published as part of Jeff’s Graded Repertoire book and is found in the Ukulele Corner Academy in Grade 8 (Advanced).
So beautiful! It’s enough to encourage me to fit some ‘ukulele practice in with my guitar practice.
I’m new to the ukulele. What size of ukulele are you playing in the Scherzino Mexicano video?
Hi Marsha, It is a tenor ukulele with the low G tuning GCEA. I also have a tenor with the high G tuning
Beautiful. Thank you.
That was beautiful!!!
Beautiful, Jeff, as always.
Awesome!
Superb Jeff and yes it does sounds like more than one person playing.
wow, a little classical piece. How beautiful! Thank you..Wish I could afford taking lessons of you. I was a great fan of Andre Segovia and used to go and see him in Pasadena at the Ambassador Auditorium as well as Jean-Pierre Rampart with him.
Stunningly beautiful. Thanks for sharing your music, Jeff!
